We’re excited to welcome Daniel Richard, aluminum reduction technology specialist at Hatch, who brings over 20 years of theoretical and practical experience across nearly every aspect of the Hall-Héroult process and smelter operations.
Daniel’s work spans process control, heat balance modeling, and lining design, and he’s the co-inventor of three patents and author or co-author of more than 20 technical papers. His career reflects a deep, lifelong curiosity about aluminum reduction cells, from their fundamental chemistry to their industrial-scale challenges, and a passion for advancing safer, more efficient smelting technologies.
In his upcoming session, Daniel will take us behind the scenes of visiting aluminum smelters, sharing what it’s like to navigate extreme environments, avoid molten metal and high voltage, and still make it home safe at the end of the day.
It’s sure to be an engaging and insightful talk you won’t want to miss!
